6 QUESTIONS YOU MUST ASK YOURSELF

Success in life is a product of sincerity to self. You can fool others but you can never fool yourself. What you tell people is what they will believe about you. Success is not a coincidence but a product of how you stand with yourself.

Where you stand shows how deep you know yourself. Discovering your personality is the greatest gift you can offer to yourself because it tells you who you can associate with and where you can be found.

Therefore, to know your stand in life, there are a few questions you must ask yourself and be honest with your answers. I call it the destiny compass question.

Am I committing Sin?

If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:

Psalm 66:18 KJV

Sin is what separates us from our maker. And without our maker, our life is at the mercy of the adversary of life; the devil. No tree can ever grow when removed from its root. We are the tree, God is the root.

Therefore, we need God to live, but sin is the bulldozer that separates us from our roots. To feed your desire is to fan it into a flame that can never be quenched.

The only real sorrow that can ever come into the life of a Christian is the torture and anguish of the heart that harbors sin. The good news is that you can be victorious over every known sin by the power of God’s indwelling Spirit.

Am I Obedient to God’s Commandment?

Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

Romans 6:13 KJV

God is an all-knowing God. He knows the end of a matter from the beginning. Yes, Obedience to God’s commandment may be costly, but the result is priceless. Living in disobedience is living a life prone to great danger.

Most times, we don’t need to pray for an issue, it might just be obedient to an instruction that will clear off the way for us. I once shared how God told me to fast but disobeyed and it led to shame. Not a cool experience but I learnt my lesson.

If we are self-willed, God cannot use us. Blunders can be permitted in the Kingdom, mistakes might be overlooked but disobedience is a No-No! It must be His way instead of our own, His choice rather than ours.

Am I spending time to pray?

Pray without ceasing

1 Thessalonians 5:17 KJV

Prayer is the life wire of every Christians. You cannot do without it. If you have neglected prayer, you are weak. Unless you living in an atmosphere of prayer then are you open to the attack of the enemy.

Prayer is talking to God, and the more you talk to Him, the more comfortable asking Him for anything with confidence. For example, when a stranger comes to ask you for help, you might feel reluctant to help because you don’t know the person, but when your friend comes to meet you for help, it will be easy to render help to the person irrespective of the distance. Prayer makes God familiar with you.

Do I study God’s Word?

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

2 Timothy 2:15 KJV

There is no other God’s Word than the Bible. This is one of the avenues we get to differentiate between God’s voice and the voice of the devil. The Bible is the oldest book with the latest news.

Every other book might expire due to an update but the Word of God is ever current. To neglect the word of God is to cut oneself from hearing His voice, for God speaks through His Word.

Am a Soul Winner?

And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.

Daniel 12:3 KJV

Every Christian has a major undisputed core function on earth and that is reconciling souls back to Christ. No matter your profession, you can win souls to Christ. You don’t have to be a pastor.

The reconciling seed is deposited in you the day you confessed Christ as your Lord and savior. So, who have you spoken to about Christ? Have you invited anybody for a fellowship this year?

Am I a giver?

Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

Luke 6:38 KJV

Giving is like sowing to the ground and expecting a harvest. Until you give, you are not qualified for a return. The reason people can never be rich in life is because of their poverty mentality of always seeking to receive without giving in return. As we give God gives, no man can beat God giving.

It is also important to know the area where your giving is going. The highest platform to give to is toward the advancement of the kingdom of God. Therefore, if the Gospel is to be given to the world, someone must pay the bill. The Gospel is like water. The water is free, but you have to pay for the piping, and so with salvation.

Conclusion: Life is full of responsibilities. And until you take such responsibility you remain a liability. Until you are honest with yourself, you remain in self-prison for life. Nobody knows you better than you do. Therefore, it is high time we asked ourselves these listed questions with an honest answer and seek to improve in whatever area we are lagging behind.

Jesus is Lord!!!
